At Kite, some of our floors are straightforward UV oiled floors, and they're great. However, with pre-finished floors you can get more complex, to the point where the finishing becomes art. Our Epping Range are our magnet floors; people are simply drawn to them.

Why the grain pops
What makes them different is how the grains pop in a different colour. This is achieved by finishing the floor with multiple coats of oil, then brushing off layers, so only certain colours sit deep within the grains.
Keeping it simple
Four finishes, any shape
As with all our floors at Kite, we try and keep things simple; there's a natural colour, a raw finish, a grey and an umber. These floors are all made to order, which means you can have any shape, width or thickness. Many of the images here are Herringbone, but this floor would look equally epic in a Chevron or Plank.

Contrasting grain
Multiple coats of oil are applied, then gradually removed with wire brushing, so the colour stays where the oil sat deeper in the wood.

Textured, real feel
The brushing leaves a textured surface, giving it the feel of real wood underfoot.

Consistent colour
The wood is stained before its top coat of oil. These reactive stains make the colour more consistent than floors in our Newington Range, which just have two coats of UV oil.

Your specification
Choose the shape (straight, herringbone or chevron), width (140mm up to 300mm), thickness, and grade (with knots, slightly less knots, or a clean grade).
Staining and then oiling takes longer, so these floors cost more than our Newington Range, our straightforward UV oiled range.

Judged on a big board, not a small sample
We don't post out samples of our premium floors, as you need to see a large sample board to judge them. Get in touch and we'll arrange this, either at your property or at the showroom.
