Epping Grey

Our Epping Grey is our “magnet” floor range; people are drawn to them. What makes these floors special, is the contrasting grain, that is achieved through multiple coats of oil and brushing. Prices start from £99 + vat per m². This finish is our Grey finish, where the grain shows in white oil. The product shown in the images is 90mm by 450mm Herringbone, but all other shapes and sizes are available.

The Epping Range is a made to order floor so is completely customisable in terms of shape, grade of wood and thickness. With this range you’ll get a consistent colour across the planks as it’s a two part process to finish the floor; staining and then oiling.

We don’t post out samples of our premium floors, as you need to see a large sample board to judge them. Get in touch if you would like us to arrange this, either at your property or at the showroom.

This is a made to order floor. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery from payment.

All prices include VAT. Contact info@kite-flooring.com if you need extra help ordering.
Description

Why we like it?

  • Our Epping range is the ultimate magnet floor. Once you see it, you are drawn to it.
  • Rather than straight-forward oils, this floor has multiple coats of oil, that are applied, then gradually removed with wire brushing. The effect means you have a contrasting grain colour, from where oils sat deeper within the wood structure.
  • This floor is a textured floor, giving it the feel of real wood.
  • This finish is the Grey finish, and the contrasting grain colours are white oil.
  • This Epping Range is a bespoke floor. This means you can choose your specification, from shape (straight, herringbone or chevron), width (140mm up to 300mm), thickness, and grade (with knots, slightly less knots, or a clean grade). The picture shown is a 120mm by 600mm Herringbone.
  • With these floors the wood is stained prior to receiving a top coat of oil. These reactive stains make the colours more consistent than floors in our Newington range, that just have two coats of UV Oil.

Why you should look elsewhere?

  • As this floor is stained, and then oiled, so it takes longer to make. For this reason it’s more expensive than the floors in our Newington Range (our straight forward UV range).
  • If you’re looking for an older, weathered look, consider something from our London Range. These floors have even more texture, and include cracks and hand filled knots.
