At Kite we believe our range can cover 90% of flooring requirements. Of course, we also know that sometimes customers are looking for something specific. This could be an extra-wide or narrow board, a specific colour or shape, a reclaimed or panelled product, or an unusual wood species.
At Kite, we work with several finishing facilities within the UK and Europe, each with its area of expertise. We’re confident that we can get to your perfect floor, at a competitive price.
A recent example was a project in Hampstead. Here the customer was insistent there could be no “yellow in their floor”. With light coloured floors, hints of yellow can always show through, unless the floor is stained before the application of the oil. It’s very rare to find this on an off-the-shelf floor so Kite developed one in partnership with our manufacturers. We also did the same for a black floor; off-the-shelf floors dark floors often contain hints of brown.
“We used Kite to supply and fit our new floors at our home in Hampstead. We had a specific finish we were looking for, and we also wanted that finish in a Herringbone and on a wide 22cm board. What made it even more challenging was we needed it quickly to coordinate with our building project. After journeying around pretty much every flooring shop in North London, we hadn’t found our floor. Fortunately, we were introduced to Kite, who got our brief, created a bespoke sample and then delivered within our timeframe. Fitting wise the guys were extremely efficient and experienced, especially the team leader Robbie. We have already recommended them to our friends.”
