MAIDA VALE

A floor in eight stages

Working in partnership with the architect, Alex Catterall of Red Works, Kite was commissioned to supply a “wow” floor for a client in Maida Vale.

The client wanted something modern and unique. After a home visit, they were drawn to this finish, not to light, not too dark, with layered oils. There are eight steps to create the finish on this floor, including staining, bleaching, cleaning, wire brushing and staining again. The floor was supplied in a “Prime” grade, with almost no knots and matching square, modern nosings.

This floor is completely bespoke, so can come in any width (up to 400mm), and any length (up to 5m).
