Lewis Lacquered – £98 per m²

£207.76 per pack (2.12 m²)

Our Lewis floor is one of our favourite floors; not too yellow, not too light, but something in the middle. It looks great anywhere, with any design scheme.

This version is our lacquered option. At Kite, we’re strong believers in oiled floors, and for most busy families, they are absolutely fine. However, oiled floors do require some maintenance, so if you’re looking for a floor you can fit, and then forget about, this is the best option. Cheap lacquers tend to be shiny, so at Kite, we’ve sourced a lacquer that is matt, equivalent to our Lewis Oiled floor. The cost of this floor is £98 per m² and it comes in packs of 2.12 m².

Description

Why we like it?

  • At Kite, we generally sell oiled floors, and are strong believers that a high quality oiled floor gives more than enough protection for busy family life.
  • However, oiled floors do require maintenance to keep them looking fresh; we recommend a maintenance oil is applied every 18/24 months.
  • Some customers we work with simply want to fit a floor and forget about it, and if this is you, a lacquered floor is the best option.
  • This floor works with any design style – it’s not too light, not too yellow. It’s actually close to a raw wood colour.
  • We’ve found that cheaper lacquered floors can look overly shiny, but a good quality matt lacquered floors, can be very, very expensive (premium Italian floors tend to be lacquered..)
  • At Kite, we’ve sourced a finish that is equivalent to our oiled finish, the Lewis, in a matt lacquer.
  • This is a middle grade floor, so has knots up to 20mm.
  • It’s 190mm width boards will almost always look great. They’re not too wide, not too narrow.
  • Easy to fit – our floors are accurately milled and then finished in Belgium. Kite is also a fitting business; any floor we sell has always been fitted prior to sale.
  • This floor is also available in our Daniel and Esther finish.

Why look elsewhere?

  • Good quality, matt lacquers are more expensive than oils. This floor is for you, if you really want to do nothing to maintain your floor after it’s fitted.
  • At Kite, we generally recommend oil floors, as whilst they will mark easier, they are easier to repair. We also love how you can refresh an oiled floor, with an extra coat, and it looks like a brand new floor.
  • This floor is a middle grade floor, so will have knots up to 20mm. We also do a version of this floor in a clean grade with almost no knots.
  • If you have a very large room, say greater than 6m in width, a wider plank may look better.

Great quality, FANTASTIC service. Thank you!

“The whole team at KITE has been beyond splendid throughout the entire process, from measurements to purchase, delivery and everything in between. Sasha, Ed, Jasper are absolutely wonderful and always go the extra mile to make sure you get total satisfaction and everything goes well during installation. Especially during COVID times, this whole operation was mind-blowing.

The product itself is excellent. It’s not the cheapest but, if you look beyond the doubtful discounts and sourcing on other websites, it’s far from being the most expensive too and the quality is there. Just order samples and compare, it’s obvious. I have 0 regret going for KITE, on the very contrary. I feel like a valued and cared-for customer, and will not hesitate a second to use them again in the future. Thank you!”
