Two floors, one family home.

The owners of this Stoke Newington house didn’t run one floor through every room. They chose two.

Downstairs: Epping Natural. The kitchen and living room do the heavy lifting in a family house: cooking, kids, and people constantly in and out. Epping Natural is the floor we call the ultimate family floor. Its calm, natural tone ties the open kitchen and living space together.

Upstairs: Lauren. The bedrooms are a different story. Lauren is a warmer oak with a red hue running through it, which makes the rooms feel cosier and more settled. It carries up onto the landing, alongside a stair runner.

Why mix? You never see upstairs and downstairs at the same time, so each storey can have the floor that suits it. The change happens on the stairs, the natural break in the house.
