Kidbrooke. Renovating a New Build

This client was unhappy with the carpet and cheap, shiny wood flooring that had been supplied by the Developer.

Unfortunately, most Developers don’t value flooring; they simply see it as a line on a spreadsheet. So, it’s very common for Kite to be called on to replace floors that have been installed in a New Build.

Normally this means Grey carpet and laminate is ripped up. Which for some reason is the most common colour specified (even though grey makes a space feel smaller!!).

This client chose our Lewis Large Herringbone, in a clean grade, so very few knots. This helps make the Herringbone pattern stand out. It’s finished with a very strong, UV cured, invisible oil, meaning that it doesn’t mark easily, and works in family life.

We also clad the stairs in solid oak treads, again finished with the same raw, oak oils.

We even made a video about it 🙂

Renovating a New Build

Outstanding Quality and Craftsmanship

“We compared several providers for our new build, but Kite Flooring stood out immediately for their excellent customer service and high-quality materials. They were incredibly patient while we chose the right wood and pattern. The installation process felt daunting at first, but the team was outstanding: always on time, professional, and true perfectionists. Despite a tricky staircase, they delivered a beautiful solution that looks stunning. Guests constantly compliment our floors, and even after over a year with cats, they’re still scratch-free. Highly recommended!”
