Why we love it

Don’t buy a cheap wood floor. Buy this.

01

Almost indestructible

AC6 is the highest wear rating for laminate. Kids, dogs, dropped pans and chair legs: it shrugs them off.

02

Wide and long planks

Each plank is 246mm wide and 1.78m long. There is nothing worse than a short, stubby plank.

03

Looks like wood

A matt, lightly brushed finish and no repeating patterns. We look at floors all day and still sometimes do a double take.

04

Water resistant

Protected joints give 100 hours of water resistance, so kitchens and hallways are no problem.

05

Underfloor heating

Works with underfloor heating. Check your heating manufacturer’s guidance and use the right underlay.

06

Half the price of wood

£36 per m², about half the price of our wood floors. It’s a simple click system, so it’s cheaper to fit too.

What our clients say

“Honestly, if you didn’t know it was laminate, you’d struggle to tell. The texture, grain and overall finish are incredibly realistic.”

How to order

Four steps to your new floor

1

Order a sample

Use the Order Sample button at the top of the page. Seeing is believing.

2

Measure your room

Length × width for each room. Our measuring guide covers awkward shapes.

3

Work out your packs

Enter your area in the calculator at the top. It adds 10% for cuts and tells you how many packs to order.

4

Add underlay

Laminate is floated, so it needs underlay. Our 21dB underlay suits most homes, or the 5mm high-performance one for uneven subfloors.

You may also need door bars and other accessories.

Is it right for you?

Where it shines, and where it doesn’t

Great for

  • Busy family homes, kids and dogs
  • Kitchens, hallways and other high-traffic areas
  • Large areas on a budget
  • Underfloor heating
  • A floor you can fit and forget

Look elsewhere if

  • You want the depth of colour and feel of real wood. Try our engineered wood ranges.
  • Your subfloor is more than 3mm out over 2m. Like any floated floor, you may get bounce or creaks unless it’s levelled (or you use a thicker underlay).
  • You want herringbone or chevron. We only sell laminate in plank, because floated patterned floors can move. See our wood herringbone instead.

Questions

Light Oak laminate: FAQs

How many packs do I need?

Each pack covers 1.751 m². Measure your area, add 10% for cuts, then divide by 1.751 and round up. For example, a 20 m² room needs 22 m², which is 13 packs (£819.39). The calculator at the top does this for you.

Can I fit it myself?

Yes, if you’re handy. It uses a simple click system, so a good handyman or a confident DIYer can fit it. Our fitting teams are also happy to quote.

Is it waterproof?

It has protected joints that give 100 hours of water resistance, so it copes well in kitchens and hallways. As with any floor, wipe up spills and leaks rather than leaving them.

Does it work with underfloor heating?

Yes. Use an underlay suitable for underfloor heating and follow your heating manufacturer’s guidance. Our guide to wood flooring and underfloor heating explains more.

What underlay should I use?

Our 21dB Wood and Laminate underlay suits most homes. For uneven subfloors, the 5mm high-performance underlay (26dB) helps reduce creaks and bounce.

What colour is Light Oak?

Our lightest laminate: a pale oak that’s great for a Scandi look and works in any design scheme. Colours look different on every screen, so we always recommend ordering a sample before you buy.
