Beautiful wood floors for less, if you plan ahead

Introducing the Kite Forward Order Scheme.

Save 15% on selected best-selling floors when you confirm early.

At Kite, we know people love our floors and we work hard to bring unique flooring into the UK market. But we’re also realistic: we’re still a line on your renovation spreadsheet, and over recent years almost every cost has been heading in one direction.

This summer, off the back of another price increase, we went to our European manufacturers and agreed new terms on the condition that we could bulk our orders. The result: on certain best-selling floors, we can now offer reduced pricing to clients who are happy to confirm early and pay a deposit in advance.

We ran the numbers on our last two years of data. If clients confirm their flooring within 14 days of our final quotation, the point at which you have everything you need to decide, we can collate orders and pass back a 15% discount on our retail pricing. We don’t do fake sales at Kite, so that’s a genuine, meaningful saving.

How the scheme works

The Kite Forward Order scheme is designed for projects needing floors between 6 weeks and 6 months away. Most of our clients are well organised, so this fits naturally. If your target date is more than 6 months out, there’s no need to order yet. If it’s less than 6 weeks away, we’ll look after you from our existing stock, but we can’t offer the same pricing on certain floors at that notice.

In short:

  • Tell us your target delivery date during the sales process, and we’ll issue a guide quotation.
  • Once you have all the details, we issue your final quotation.
  • If the pricing works and your target date is 6 weeks to 6 months away, you have 14 days to lock in the 15% discount.
  • Confirm with a deposit, and your price is fixed, protected against any further increases before delivery.

Paying for your floor

To confirm your order we take a 15% deposit. The balance is then split into two further payments, which also helps spread your cashflow across the project:

  • 35% at the halfway point between your deposit date and your target delivery date.
  • The final 50% six weeks after that, or before delivery, whichever is sooner.

(The 15% deposit and the 15% discount are separate things — the deposit secures your order and stock; the discount is your saving against retail pricing.)

Floors currently in the scheme

We add new floors regularly, but these represent our current best sellers. This doesn’t include the bespoke floors from our Clissold range.

FAQs

What if my target delivery date changes?

Not a problem, delays are more the rule than the exception on building projects. We can store your floors free of charge for up to 6 months. If you need your floor sooner than planned, we’ll do our best, but we can’t always guarantee it.

Why can’t I order closer to my target delivery date?

The scheme only works if orders are spread evenly across the 6-week-to-6-month window. That even spread is what lets us collate orders and secure the better pricing. If everyone leaves it to the last minute, we can’t collate, and we’re back where we started, without the saving to pass on.

What if I want to change or cancel my order?

Because your deposit pre-orders stock and commits us with our manufacturers, please get in touch as soon as you can. In practice we can almost always make things work, particularly when the change involves other floors within the scheme.

How much notice do I need to give for delivery?

As soon as your floor is available, our customer services team will be in touch. We then normally need 3 working days to arrange delivery.

Are all floors part of the scheme?

No, the scheme covers a selection of our best sellers.

Next Steps?

To move your flooring project forward, you can either order samples, or the best way to tick flooring off your to do list is to book a consultation, either online or at our Shoredicth showroom.

Terms and conditions

Quotations and confirming your order

  • During the sales process you’ll confirm a target delivery date, and Kite will issue a guide quotation. Once you have all the information you need, we issue a final quotation.
  • Your guide quotation is an estimate. Your final quotation is the binding price and is what the 14-day window and the 15% discount are based on.
  • If your final quotation is acceptable and your target date is between 6 weeks and 6 months away, you have 14 days from the date of the final quotation to confirm and secure the 15% discount.
  • If your project is more than 6 months away, you don’t need to order yet. If it’s less than 6 weeks away, we’ll quote from stocked options, which may not carry the scheme discount.
  • All prices and the 15% discount are quoted inclusive of VAT. The discount applies to floor materials only, so not underlay, trims, accessories and delivery.

Deposit, payments and price

  • Your order is confirmed on receipt of the 15% deposit. Two further payments follow: 35% at the halfway point between deposit and target delivery date, and the final 50% six weeks later or before delivery, whichever is sooner.
  • Once your deposit is paid, your price is fixed and protected against any further price increases before delivery.
  • If a scheduled payment is missed, we’ll contact you to arrange it. Delivery cannot proceed until any balance is cleared.

Changes, cancellations and refunds

  • Taking your deposit means we pre-order your stock and commit to it with our manufacturers. For that reason the deposit is non-refundable, but we may be able to transfer the payment to other floors in the scheme. If you need to change or cancel, contact us as early as possible, we can almost always find a workable solution, especially where the change involves other floors within the scheme.

Quantities and shade batches

  • Quantities are based on the measurements available at the time of your final quotation. If the required quantity changes once the site is finalised, we’ll adjust your order and pricing accordingly; but we cannot guarantee any extra product will include the 15% discount.
  • Wood and engineered floors vary slightly between production batches. Where possible we supply from a single batch, but if you order additional material later we can’t guarantee an exact shade match to an earlier delivery.

Storage, delivery and risk

  • If your target date is delayed, common on building projects, we can store your floors free of charge for up to 6 months.
  • After 6 months’ storage, we reserve the right to charge £10 per week per pallet.
  • When your floor is ready, our customer services team will let you know. We normally need 3 working days to arrange delivery.

General

  • Scheme pricing applies to the specification in your final quotation, is offered per project, is not transferable to other customers, and can’t be combined with other offers. The minimum value for the scheme is £1,500.
  • Floors are added to the scheme from time to time; availability of any particular floor is subject to our manufacturers’ continued supply.
  • Neither party is liable for delays caused by events outside its reasonable control, including shipping, manufacturing or import disruption.
  • These terms don’t affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
